It’s no secret that the Black Library may be a key to the 40k Universe, and now in the Harlequin codex we have a quasi-prophecy that’s troubling.

The Harlequins have always been said to have some sort of ‘trick’ up their sleeves for saving the Eldar race and finally getting over on Slaanesh once and for all.

Cegorach (pronounced SHAY-GOR-RACK?) , the Laughing God, reportedly is the only Eldar god to escape the fall of the Eldar, and has been planning this ‘final act’ for a very long time.

‘On the last day Cegorach will gather all the dead of his peoples and give them to the mustering Lord of the Dead to aid him in combating the Prince of Pleasure so that they may be reborn in a new earthly shell.’ – Attributed to a disguised Cegorach

Applying this piece of the puzzle and to the Eldar lore, their God of the Dead, Ynnead, seems to figure into this End Time scenario for the Eldar.

The Angel of Iyanden, Iyanna Arienal, may also have a part in the dance as well.

‘When Eldrad Ulthran brought warning to Iyanden of the Great Devourer he also told the Iyanden Seer Council that the Eldar races only ultimate hope against Slaanesh lay with Ynnead, the God of Death.

While most of Iyanden’s dismissed Ulthran, Arienal embraced this prophecy and in a brief moment recieved a glorious apotheosis where the spirits of living Eldar would become one with the dead. The resulting psychic backlash would stir Ynnead from his slumber, and at least defeat Slaanesh.’

Now that the stage is set, take a look at this bit of fluff from the new Harlequin book.

At the heart of the Black Library lies a crystalline book that is said to contain the words of Cegorach himself.

‘Now long awaited portents have come to pass, and the bands of light around the book have flicked and died, and within the pages are recorded Cegorach’s final jest, a way to trick Slaanesh into expending all her power not to destroy the Eldar, but to save them.’

The portents that references above, all seem to be happening now, and may be signaling a rising crescendo towards the final act.

‘A fallen sorcerer seeks the lore of the library, A King stirs in his court of death and silence, preparing to rise once more. Within madness’ eye the champion of Ruinous Powers prepares to seize a realm long denied.’

That sounds like Ahriman trying to gain access to the Black Library, the Necron Silent King’s return, and of course Abaddon I would imagine, all things that are happening right now in 40k.

So from here it seems the stage has been set and the players are taking their marks, the only question is;  When will the final act begin?

Mind trip time; Since Eldrad is supposedly dead and fractured inside a Slaaneshi possessed Blackstone fortress, do you think he dropped that knowledge on Arienal when he visited Iyanden long ago because he knew that she was the key to saving and bringing back the Eldar race, himself included?

Tricksy Farseers….
