We have valuable intel on the latest preview of the U-Wing for the Star Wars X-Wing game. Let’s get the rundown and see what’s in store for the Rebels.
The latest Rebel large based ship, the U-Wing is designed for support and troop transport. The dial of the U-Wing is interesting in that it is the first for the Rebels to feature a red 0 maneuver to halt in place. Also it only has 1 red maneuver, while the rest of its dial is fairly open and maneuverable for large ship. 
The first pilot up on the roster is Heff Tobber. He is at PS 3, and would make an excellent blocker with his dial and ability. His pilot ability states that whenever an enemy ship overlaps your ship, you may perform a free action. This ship would be an excellent platform for an Ion Projector or Anti-Pursuit lasers too!
A new crew member in this expansion is Baze Malbus. He is a 3 point upgrade that allows you to perform an attack after you miss, much like the Gunner card. The stipulation for Baze is that you must select a different ship for your second attack. Not a bad way to spread some damage around.
The next pilot up is Bodhi Rook. He clocks in at PS 4 and has a superb support ability. Whenever a friendly ship acquires a target lock, that ship can lock onto an enemy ship at range 1-3 of any friendly ship. This is an excellent way to “leap frog” target locks to friendly Z-95s that may be out of range of enemy aces.
Bodhi Rook also comes with a crew card that gives you the same ability as his pilot card, but restricted to the ship that he is currently on.
The last crew upgrade featured in this expansion is the Inspiring Recruit crew member. This card allows you to remove an additional stress token once per round! This is an amazing ability that can help seemingly crippled ships with multiple stress tokens to get back into the fight quickly. This will be on a lot of ships to help out with all the stressful maneuvers and enemy tactics that may come your way.
