It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen these guys. Are these ‘venerable’ Terminator models poised for a re-release?
The Heresy Gurus over at Battle Bunnies may have connected the dots…
Take a look at this image from a recent Black Library Horus Heresy Novella:
There were the Rogue Trader terminator models that were sold separately in pewter, and were also available in a plastic ‘low-fi’ version that came in the first Space Hulk kits. It’s all in the shoulder pads folks!
Here he is in the 1989 Citadel catalog (bottom left):
Battle Bunnies says the model is described as a “Pyre Warden”. Since we’ve already seen the original Rogue Trader robots redone by both Forge World and the Design Studio, I can see where there is a precedent for these guys getting a face lift too.
Why else would you pay an artist for new artwork 25 plus years later?
