Another Space Marine build has emerged on the tournament scene that made a big impact at the Battle for Salvation tournament last weekend!

Matt Defranza (right) won the Battle For Salvation Tournament last weekend with his first turn assaulting Raven Guard list that can “leap” over all obstacles.

Apparently he runs it with the Talon Strike Force detachment which let’s you roll for reserves starting on turn one and pairs that with the Shadowstrike Kill Team that can choose to pass or fail its roll to arrive from reserves, AND assault on the turn it arrives from deep strike.

Plus having a normal demi-company as scoring backup, and air support from the Storm Wing made this a great list for the BFS. Also note that Death From the Skies was legal for play here as well and Matt took an Inquisitor with Servo skulls to help guide in his deep strikers if needed, and keep the enemy off his back as well.

Here’s as much of the list as we’ve been able to dig up:

  • Talon Strike Force Detachment
  • CORE: Space Marine Demi Company (all minimums)
  • AUX: Shadowstrike Kill Team (2 Vangaurd vet squads with Claws & Fists, combat squaded, min 2 scout squads)
  • AUX:  Storm Wing Formation (Two Stormtalons, One Stormraven)
  • Inquisitor with Servo Skulls.

Overall this stacks up to be a great list with tons of benefits from the Raven Guard tactics to also the fact they have jump packs and can use them to leap frog bubble wraps, get extra attacks with Hammer of Wrath and more. While all that is happening the Demi company starts locking down objectives and directing battle field traffic.

Congrats to Matt, and be sure to check out the Battle for Salvation next year on Columbus day weekend!
