FTW Games (the home of Spikey Bits) will be running one of the National Horus Heresy Weekender Events in January!

Hi, this is Chris Bowers, AKA Cobra6. Bottom line up front, Rob and Spikey are kindly hosting an action-packed Horus Heresy weekend at FTW Games – 13176 Midlothian Turnpike, Midlothian, VA (804-464-1873), over the MLK Holiday weekend 17-19 Jan 2014.

You can find the weekend event pack *here* but basically it boils down to an evening of open HH gaming on Day 1, followed by a day of organized Heresy scenario and doubles play on Day 2, followed by a Heresy Apocalypse game on Day 3.

This gaming weekend is in conjunction with another Horus Heresy weekend going on at Mugu Games in Everett, Washington; it’s all based around Loken’s Heresy 30K site.
Gaming over the weekend

You and your army will fight on either the side of the steadfast Loyalists who follow the Emperor, or the Traitors fighting for Horus’ vision of a new order. The aim of this weekend is to experience an historic event at the dawn of the Imperium, reliving those heroic moments of sacrifice and mad ambition. This is your chance to play your part in the Horus Heresy; to choose your side and carve out your own piece of history that had previously gone untold. We already know that the traitors go on to ravage the Imperium, but how much more destruction was averted due to the efforts of the remaining loyalists? Who knows, maybe the Imperium in the 41st millennium would lie in utter ruin if the loyalists had not slowed down Horus’ machinations by fighting until their very last…?

Over the weekend, you’ll get to play several exciting games of Warhammer 40,000, set solely during the Heresy. Friday will feature registration and open Horus Heresy gaming, Saturday will include three games set during the battle of Istvaan, including a doubles game with a partner from your faction and will culminate on Sunday in an Apocalypse game with all of the attendees fighting for one last chance at dominance. All details are in the event pack, hyperlinked above.

Tickets to the event will be $40.00 – 100% of this cost will go towards providing prize support for the event. There will be prizes given to the winner of Best Painted Army, as well as to the top-scoring player from the Loyalist and Traitor sides, as well as lesser prizes for several other awards. So come on out and join the Loyalists or the Traitors, and decide the fate of the Galaxy!

Scale model hobbyist in the 80s, miniature wargamer, and trading card player ever since. He’s played every edition of Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Fantasy since 5th Edition, but Titans of all sizes will always be his favorite!
