3 New Titan Classes – What’s Next From Forge World?

Come see what one of the biggest guru’s out there for all things Forge World and Horus Heresy is saying about new Titans!

Personally I feel like were at this weird place where 10+ years out from the first Warhound titan that technology is now to the point where better looking models can be made from scratch, rather than creating new parts to add to older looking styles.

You can almost see the dating in the design of the Reaver Titan versus the new Volcano Cannon upgrade they released nearly 10 years later from the Reaver itself.

Now we have the amazing looking Warlord that was desgined on the computer, and the sky seems like the limit. But what about those Warhounds and Reavers from just a few years back, where’s the love for them?

Hobby Maniacs Battlebunnies had some idea about what direction Forge World may be taking with these Engines of the Machine God.
Let’s talk Titans. So with the Warlord Dust settling now and the few hundred who have been blessed with the delivery of a Warlord Titan; getting to a point where their Engines are finished or need to take a break as their fingers are so covered in Super glue that they struggle to keep a grip on a glass of water, we look forward to what is possibly on the horizon.

Warlord Titan

Head 2. This did not go down terribly well apparently, but was actually the head and shield combo that I wanted for my Legio Mortis Engine. It may never see the light of day, which would be a shame.
Head 3. This went down very well and is my preferred head unit which has been showcased so far.
Would love to see more head units be released, especially remastered versions of the old Warlord Titan heads from Titanicus.
Apocalypse missile launchers are ready to be released which is good news.
Darren Parwood mentioned he will be keeping the designing up on the Mars Alpha Warlord for a while, hoping to work on the Mori Quake Cannon and Sunfury Plasma Annihilator first. I am personally looking forward to the Carapace mounted Reaver Melta Cannons and Gatling Blasters.

Warhound Titan

Sadly the old dog has not had much love for a while. I can see this changing in the not too distant future with a few upgrades / swaps. Originally in Epic you could stick Apocalypse Launchers as arm options, I would love to see this option being made available to 40k gamers.

Ursus claws. It’s got to happen. As depicted in Betrayer these weapons would be fantastic to be seen on the battlefield, especially if their rules are fluffy.

Chin guns. As also in betrayer, some defensive chin guns were mentioned. Another cool upgrade that could come available.

Nemesis and Nightgaunt Titans:

I have been told that these two designs may be the next designs that could be developed with the success of the Warlord Titan with 3D cad. Now originally they wanted the Nemesis and Nightgaunt to get their own chassis back in the day of the Titanicus boxed game, but due to casting costs etc they never got round to it. So with this, these two Titan designs became loadout specific Warlord Variants, something which they never wanted to really happen. The Nemesis was to be a gun platform Titan, where it pretty much lugged around some of the more devastating weapons in 40k, whilst the Nightgaunt was to be a slightly heavier Scout Titan. The Nemesis is apparently the next Titan we will see, with the Nightgaunt possibly a few years later.

Imperator:

“I am afraid that the Imperator may be one for the Forge World costume department”
So there you have it, some bold musings from the gents close to the studio and Forge World itself; Battlebunnies
