Wave 9 is set to release late this year, but we are already cooking up ideas for new builds! Come see some ways to fly the scum’s new Fang fighter!
From what we can see on the preview pictures we can tinker with what we have to get some thoughts rolling around on what will will be expecting out of these new ships. Let’s get started!
Let’s start off with one of the hottest ships in the expansion: The Protectorate Fighter. Also known as the Fang Fighter, this little monster loves to get in your face and deliver one heck of a hay-maker! With the title card seen in the preview picture, this ship will live longer if it’s in Range 1 of enemy ships.
The Concord Dawn Protector title reads “When defending, if you are in the attacker’s firing arc and at Range 1 and the attacker is in your firing arc, add 1 evade result.” For 1 point, this title will allow you to fly super aggressive with your Fang Fighter and have no fear of getting shot at Range 1. Add that title to the PS 9 Fenn Rau and he gets even more awesome at Range 1.
When attacking or defending, if your enemy is at Range 1 you roll an additional die. So that’s 5 attack dice and 4 defense dice at Range 1, with 1 free evade result! All this and we haven’t put any other upgrades on him besides the title! Wow!
Depending on the dial, Push the Limit might be a good choice for the Elite slot. It will allow you to arc dodge and get into Range 1 easier with boost and barrel-roll at your disposal. Speaking of boost, Autothrusters would be a good Modification to add to our little buddy. So in total we have:
PS 9 Fenn Rau – Concord Dawn Protector + Push the Limit + Autothrusters = 34 points
