Wheelin’ & Dealin’ Star Wars Destiny

You know that Lando is a gambling scoundrel and so does Star Wars Destiny! Come and see the new Yellow Hero cards for Empire at War.

The gambling smuggler himself, Lando Calrissian makes his debut in Star Wars Destiny. He starts off with a perfectly thematic ability that allows you to start the game with 1 additional resource. This will surely come in handy for his dice and upgrades. His die comes with a good mix. 1 ranged, 1 focus, 2 discard for a resource, 1 resource, and 3 resources for a resource.

You gotta spend money to make money! What would Lando be without his signature X-8 Night Sniper. This 2 cost upgrade has ambush and an action ability that allows you to spend 1 resource to turn its die to any side. Its die features 1 ranged, 3 ranged for a resource, +2 ranged, 1 disrupt, and 1 resource.

Using its ambush, you could roll this die out, and then use your next action to spend a resource and turn this die to any side. Buy your own luck! Being a Tough Haggler could surely benefit Lando. This 3 cost upgrade is all about forcing tough choices on your opponent. 2 disrupt, 1 resource, +2 resources, and 2 special ability sides make up this supportive upgrade’s die. The special ability allows you to look at an opponent’s hand and choose 2 cards in it. Then discard those cards unless your opponent spends 2 resources. Either way, you force a discard or make them lose resources. A great control card.

Chopper breaks into Destiny as a scrappy little support droid. For 1 resource, you get a die with 1 melee, 1 melee, 1 disrupt, 1 resource, 1 special ability. He comes built in with an Electroshock as his special ability allows you to remove a die showing a value of 2 or less. A great support at a low cost. Another great low cost upgrade is the Energy Slingshot. This upgrade comes with a die that has 1 ranged, 1 ranged, 1 disrupt, 1 disrupt, and 1 discard. It also comes with a built in ability to reroll it instead of removing it from your pool. You may do this after you resolve it at the cost of 1 resource. This could be a great upgrade for Ezra Bridger as he has an ability that can steal resources. A great way to keep your characters alive is to spread the damage around. Impersonate is just the card to do it. For 2 resources, this Event allows you to move damage among your characters as you wish; just be careful not to move damage that would exceed a character’s health. Great card for a list that features more than 2 characters. If you do find your team outnumber, even the odds with Tenacity. This 3 cost Event allows you to exhaust one of your opponent’s characters if they have more characters than you. This card has excellent control implications, as a exhausted character can no longer activate. Brilliant!

The new Yellow Hero cards will make you a gambler extraordinaire in no time at all. Keep on wheelin’ and dealin’ in Star Wars Destiny’s Empire at War!
