gladius 1

Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War brings you to a world of terror and violence. Four factions will engage in a brutal war for dominance over the planet’s resources. In the first 4X turn-based strategy game set in Warhammer 40,000 you will lead one of four unique factions.

Gladius Prime

The game is set on a mysterious planet known as Gladius Prime. As the Imperium began to find relics, they awakened a Dynasty of Necrons who are hellbent on removing all life from the planet. Players may fight for the Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Orks, or Necrons. The game looks very similar to any Civilization game from its turn-based style and hexagonal blocks.

Bases may expand within your territory but the player will have to claim more land in order for his base to grow. Be quick to snag resources for yourself and fortify the walls of your strongholds. The enemy will surely be doing the same.

gladius 2

Gladius Prime was known to Imperial scholars as a planet of archeological interest. During its colonization ancient relics were found, revealing hints of a shrouded past. But it was more than relics. Something awakened, an unspeakable horror from an ancient past, and the citizens of Gladius found themselves trapped in a terrible war for survival.

The game has a lot of nice textures and shading quality from other games we’ve seen. Gladius is set to release from the Steam Marketplace on July 12th for $40 so remember the date if you wanted to download a copy.

Grabbing a bunch of friends and hopping on this game seems like a fun way to spend a night! So now the question stands. Who will you be playing as when this game comes out? What units do you hope to see in the game?
