Rob is bringing us another new product unboxing. Check out Mortian’s Battle tanks that are a striking alternative to Games Workshop!
Rob reached out and got two of the awesome new battle tanks from Mortian. These are the equivalents to the standard Leman Russ, but they also offer a few other variants, like the Not-Gorgon.
The box is pretty standard, however, it’s a nice touch that the startup has its own branded boxes, which is cool. Honestly, though the packaging could have used some more packing material inside. Nothing was broken, but that would have made me nervous.
Unfortunately, you do have to clean out all the pieces just like with Forgeworld, but that’s almost expected at this point with resin. There are lots of optional bits and decorations or weapon options. For example, the panels on the sides can either be plain or decorative with the insides being different. It also comes with every weapon option you want fro any Leman Russ so you’re set on that front!
Here we can see the side panel put together, Rob decided to keep it simple with the plain armor panels and a heavy bolter on the turret.
Here Rob has got the whole model dry fit and poster tacked together. The detail is pretty good and it definitely has a unique look that makes it stand out among other Leman Russ tank models.
One last thing just for reference, here is the Mortian next to a normal Leman Russ, just oh so slightly larger, but pretty close in general. The added size gives it just a slightly more realistic look in terms of proportions. It is also smaller than the popular Macharius line of tanks from Forge World as well.
