9th edition super heavy detachmentFor Super Heavy Detachments, you have the option of spending 3-6 CP. If you only spend 3CP, you can’t include any TITANIC units. For Imperial players, that pretty much means Armiger Helverins and Warglaives. If you’re an Imperial Knight player gearing up for a 2k tournament, you’ll be starting the game off with half of your CPs spent just to help you take all your Knights. With that said. Remember that if your Warlord is in a Detachment they refund all your CP for you.

Even if your Warlord is a War Dog (or Armiger, if you’re going loyal), you’ll get 3 Command points – enough to pay fully for a Super-heavy Detachment with no Titanic units. So, if you’re looking to assemble a deadly hunting pack of War Dogs, we’ve got you covered too.

9th edition super heavy auxiliary detachmentFor the Super Heavy Axuiliaries, taking one Lord of War (which can be TITANIC without any cost change) will cost 3CP.

Overall, things look way better for Lord of War players in 9th Edition. You’ll be starting the game with more CP than you ever dreamed of having in 8th Edition and you don’t have to spend obligatory points for a CP battery. You’ll actually benefit more by NOT taking one. Four-Knight lists are looking to be back on the menu once again (well assuming the points stay the same)!

What do you think about these changes to 9th Edition? Were LOW lists already really strong with just a handful of CP? Have LOW lists get even stronger? Do you think there will be some Achilles heel to taking nothing but LOWs in 9th?
