Cubicle 7 Launching New 40k RPG Imperium Maledictum

Imperium Maledictum featureCubicle 7 is launching a new 40k RPG called Imperium Maledictum with a large focus on investigating and intrigue.

If you like 40k and RPGs, this might be right up your alley! Considering you’ll be playing the role of a citizen and not necessarily not a high-ranking officer, it might be easier to create some characters and connect with them a little more.

As sometimes, it’s hard to connect with a Space Marine, but whether you like the idea or not, this will focus on the smaller heroes of the Imperium. You’ll have to work through a corrupted system to find your targets!

The good thing is this will be made parallel with Wrath & Glory, so it’s not like their other 40k RPG is just going by the wayside. Let’s check out the announcement from Cubicle 7!

Imperium Maledictum

The game will take place in the Macharian Sector and be built around a d100 game system. Here’s what they have to say about the new game:

Players take on the roles of citizens of the Imperium in service to a powerful patron, with games focused on investigation and intrigue. The Imperium is a deadly place, and the players must tread carefully if they hope to survive. Your service to your patron allows you to move through Imperial society where others can’t. The Influence you and your patron have with the many factions of the Imperium will determine how your investigations proceed, where you can go, and what resources you have access to.

This is a much different setting than Wrath & Glory, which is more about action-based adventure. While this will focus on intrigue and working for a high-ranking patron, maybe even an Inquisitor could make for some cool gameplay elements.

They did mention they will make supplements and books for individual patrons and organizations. So it looks like you’ll be able to take your team to different locales all along the sector, working for different people.

Imperium Maledictum 2The core book will focus on the game’s mechanics, have scenarios, and help you explore the sector. They also mentioned that they will be heavily updating the d100 system to improve gameplay and bring it to a new system.

Unfortunately, as of right now, they haven’t come out with a release date or any of the book titles. It looks like Fall would be the earliest possible release date.

Will you be playing the game when it comes out? Do you like Wrath & Glory?
