Slaanesh's New 40k Rules, Stats & More REVEALEDSlaanesh and Sisters of Silence are the focus on this month’s issue of White Dwarf. However, we’ve just gotten a first look at the Host of Syll’Esske!

Warhammer Community announced earlier that October’s White Dwarf was coming with a Sisters of Silence index as well as specific support in the form of Warscroll Battalions centered around Syll’esske. We’ve got the earlier previews in case you missed it:

Sisters of Silence Index Announced

Sisters of Silence artThe Sisters of Silence are among the most secretive of orders, yet without them, the Imperium would be susceptible to the rise of rogue psykers and widespread daemonic possession. You can read all about the ancient origins of the Silent Sisterhood, the Great Tithe, and what it means to be an Untouchable. As if that wasn’t enough, there are also up-to-date datasheets and points values for the three varieties of Silent Sister squads, as well as their bespoke transport, the Null-Maiden Rhino.

However, their books have since been split up. Looking into 8th edition, this is the first real wave of support we’ve seen them get.

Slaaneshi Warscroll Battalions

The Dark Prince of Chaos may be missing, but that hasn’t prevented the meteoric rise of one of Slaanesh’s foremost champions – Syll’Esske, the Vengeful Allegiance. Read all about the fell deeds of this inseparable Daemon Prince and Herald, then lead the decadent Syll’Esskan Host into battle with four bespoke warscroll battalions!

Who is Syll’Esske?

Syll Lewdtongue is a Herald of Slaanesh, while the towering form of Esske the Scarred is that of a mortal who was raised to the rank of Daemon Prince by the grace of their dark master. The irony is that, though circumstances conspired for the daemon and once-mortal warrior to fight each other to the death on a bloody arena floor, those same events would see their fates become entwined forevermore in a relationship born of unparalleled devotion.

The Host of Syll’Esske Warscroll Battalion LATEST

Coming from Warhammer Community’s latest preview on the White Dwarf, the Vengeful Throng is one of four Warscroll Battalion’s we’ll have to choose from.

For the budding Slaaneshi warlords out there, you’ll find new allegiance abilities and four warscroll battalions for fielding the Syll’Esskan Host in battle

Taking a step into the Vengeful Throng Warscroll Battalion, it’s mainly centered around the Mortals of Slaanesh. You can make this relatively cheap as all you need is a single Mortal Hero and two units of Chaos Knights/Marauder Horsemen. However, filling this out gives you a pretty strong once per game ability.

With Headlong Charge, you can essentially charge well outside of the normal range. You also get a free shot at D3 mortal wounds on a 5+ for each unit. You may want to take MSU’s in the Battalion. That way, you can max the number of chances for a 3D6 charge and mortal wound output. While we’re only seeing one Warscroll Battalion, remember that there are still three more yet to be covered. On top of that, the White Dwarf is coming with twelve pages full of content for Syll’esske.

Did Slaaneshi armies need more Warscroll Battalion support? What’s the best Battalion to run out of the Battletome? Is Syll’Esske worth the points in AoS?
