Screenshot_740When you need a place to hide you may be looking for a place with no phone or that has no people but this is not that place!

Here are the latest models from the community, brought to us by The Mighty Cheese Board on Spikey Bits Hobbies Facebook Group.

Watchtower

So here are some of the details behind the build for the watchtower. As normal, I think the images give more detail than my words can but I’ll give a top-level breakdown. The first three levels are all from XPS blocks that have been weathered, with the balsa wood floorboards and joists. The overhang level is all balsa wood, weathered with needles to give a better ‘wood effect’.

The top-level is XPS foam with balsa for the structure, filled then with crackle paint and mixed in with acrylic paint to match where I didn’t want cracks in the ‘plaster’. Likewise on the inside too. The roof is PVC foam board cut and weathered for tiles, with flexible metal for the flashing.

“Let’s get to that building!”
