More Death on the Way? New GW Rumor Engine SPOTTED

By Wesley Floyd | May 7th, 2019 | Categories: GW Rumor Engine, News & Rumors

A new rumor engine is here and it the bit has a similar style to one we’ve seen fairly recently. We have a feeling this could be going to the same model.

Warhammer Community revealed another rumor engine right on time showcasing what looks to be some kind of weapon. However, it’s also got a design style that looks oddly familiar to another rumor engine we saw previewed earlier.

More Death on the Way?

Looking at the new bit, it appears to be some kind of weapon. (We’re thinking a scythe). However, there are a few key points about this pic that need to be noted. First, scythes are usually associated with the Grim Reaper/death. We’ve already seen Nighthaunt get their full wave of support in AoS so this be that Death/Tomb Kings may be getting some new models in the future. To add on even more evidence supporting this, the bit looks to have some spinal vertebrae at the crux of the weapon.

As we mentioned the latest bit looking oddly familiar in style to an older rumor engine, take a look at these two skeletal tails. It looks like (roughly) the same vertebrae design on the tails can match with the weapon. Whatever is lurking in GW’s design department, it’s made of bones and we think it’s coming to AoS/ Warcry!

The current lore timeline for AoS would also support the Legions of Nagash getting a full rework. After the Necroquake, Nagash focused on the Nighthaunt to prey on the aspect of fear to mortals. Now that he’s established a chain of command with Lady Olynder, the Craven King, Reikenor, etc. he can (theoretically) turn his attention back to his skeletons.

Could we be seeing a new Death Battletome hit the shelves in the near future? Will a host of undead models be coming with them? Let us know what you think about the rumor engine in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
