Chaos Knights Rising at Bay Area Open: 40k Army List

40k-homebrew-army-listsChaos Knights are clawing into competitive play as a Chaos Knight Warhammer 40k army list emerged in the massive Bay Area Open!

9th Edition’s meta is again in flux, but some players take lists with units that nobody expected. Check out this awesome homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend. This just goes to show us that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.

However, we aren’t covering all those lists, instead, we will be looking at just one of our favorites this week.

Bay Area Open: Ashton Frizzell – Chaos Knights 8th Place

Ashton Frizzell

Ashton did very well, making it into the top cut at the Bay Area Open and everyone knew Chaos Knights were good, but doing good among a swarm of the most competitive lists around is a huge achievement!

The list is “led” by an Abominant and a Desecrator. The new Abominant features the huge boon of being a psyker, but also has a good knight statline and good weapons, making it an easy include in chaos knight lists. The Desecrator has a fantastic anti-armor ranged weapon and the ability to deal some good damage in melee too.

There is also a set of “smaller” knights in 7 War Dogs. War Dogs saw an increase in play steadily prior to the update and are still great, the only major change was the load-outs are now tied to named variants, but the models are still just as viable.
