Chaos Top 5 New 8th Imperial Armor Rules

Imperial Armor Chaos Post

Rejoice followers of the Dark Gods, the new Imperial Armor for Chaos Forces is here! Come see our top five rules picks that you need to know.

The Imperial Armor Index: Forces of Chaos is an 88-page resource with over 50 datasheets. It seems to have a better structure than the Forces of the Adeptus Astartes book in terms of point value listings, and units being logically where you would think they would be.

Be sure to check out our First Look video below for the full break down of the top five rules that you need to know.

This review is focused on your normal scale 8th Edition games that you will encounter and not the extreme point games involving a Chaos Titan that costs 4,000 points, for example.

The Kytan Ravager is a great unit that has a lot to offer. You can apply the Mark of Khorne to this unit and the Legion keyword is open to serve whatever legion you want it to. It has two different profiles for its Great Cleaver of Khorne that allows it to single target smash a target or make three slashing attacks. It’s base attack are 5, so you can make a total of 15 slash attacks which is great for facing multiple targets.

It comes in at 330 base points and 184 points extra for the Kytan Gatling Cannon. The cannon can wound on 2+, -2AP, and deals 2 damage per shot. So, while a bit steep in price, it can do a lot of work.

Kytan RavagerAn’ggrath the Unbound is checking in with great stats. 24 wounds, 4+ invulnerable save, friendly Khorne units within 9″ can use his Leadership, he can deny two psychic powers (with +3 to any attempt to do so), and much more goodness that we can keep going. His Axe of Khorne deals D6 damage and he can attack ten times.

He clocks in at 700 points which, for some players, may seem expensive. But that isn’t the case for 8th Edition and certainly is not the case for the stats he has these days.
