Why USPS Packages Are Disappearing Into The Warp

usps trucksYou may have noticed over the last week or so your USPS packages have been disappearing into the Warp- here’s why.

We’re not saying this to bash anyone, just something you should keep an eye out for. Since we ship out so many packages we’ve been seeing some strange stuff lately with how packages are getting tracked.

Mainly they aren’t getting scanned when they are moving through the country. So don’t be too surprised if you just randomly see stuff show up and it never showed anywhere in the country!

Keep an Eye on Your USPS Packages!

PackageNormally, packages are scanned when they arrive and depart from every hub, even the one you are shipping from. What’s been happening recently, is it basically doesn’t get scanned going “out” of departing USPS facilities. So you have no idea where the package is until it gets to your regional hub and starts making the trek “in” to your local area.

It’s not a huge issue. But when you have something important or wondering if it will make it for Christmas, it can be nerve-wracking. Most of us have lost packages somewhere along the line and not seeing it scanned anywhere isn’t very calming. At least the scanning still seems to be happening at smaller regional hubs. But you basically have no idea where the package is until it’s almost at your house. Just kind of defeats the purpose of tracking something right now, but it still looks like the mail is still flowing.

While the obvious reason is COVID, they just don’t seem to have the manpower to keep up scanning both incoming and outgoing shipments.  Especially with the holiday season and cutbacks, keep an eye on your packages and hopefully, you actually get everything you ordered this year!

Have any of your Holiday purchases not made it? Have you noticed the same thing with tracking packages?
