Jack of Clubs Painting is back again with another tutorial on painting a Crimson Fist Space Marine. Learn how to paint the regal blues of the Crimson Fists!

Jack of Clubs has another tutorial for you Crimson Fists fanatics out there today! He’s painting this iconic Space Marine chapter quite lovingly with a top-down airbrush angle, so keep that in mind when following along.

Let’s do the chapter proud and get started. For the glory of Kantor!

Just The Tips: Crimson Fists

To get started on our Crimson Fists blue our first paint in the airbrush is Vallejo Titan Blue. This dark navy type blue captures the color of the Crimson Fists perfectly. After a nice top-down base coat is applied, grab some Dark Grey Blue from Pro Acryl. This dark blue-grey adds a dark highlight to the blue hues, focusing on spot highlights. Focus Dark Grey Blue on the center lines of his limbs to create contrast on the armor.

Next, add Pants Blue from Pro Acryl to add more spot highlighting to the shoulder pads and armor. Leave some breaks in your airbrushing at the joints to add even more contrast. Our shadows will stay dark to keep the Crimson Fists blue.

Once the Crimson Fists blue is finished, start on the actual crimson fists with Heavy Red from Vallejo. This is a great red to use as a base coat for future red highlights.

The Heavy Red can be highlighted with Bold Pyro Red but remember to add only a thin coat. This makes a great vibrant color for his Crimson Fists!
