Don’t miss this one! Check out the next big thing for the miniature hobby with Rampart, the magnetic modular terrain set that is now live on Kickstarter.

We have all been using magnets to keep our models flexible in their loadouts, so why not add that magnet tech to your terrain? Rampart is a magnetized modular terrain manufacturer that is starting up a Kickstarter to bring you the latest craze in the hobby terrain world.

But not only that, if you don’t want to use magnets, not you can cut down the frame sprue itself to use as pegs to attach the pieces together.

We got our hands on some resin prototypes that can be configured in a variety of ways again and again.  While not the exact material that will be available from the Kickstarter, it gives everyone a good idea of the product’s potential.

With Games Workshop terrain, once you build them, they can’t be reconfigured to change them later.

Rampart has you covered in this aspect being able to insert magnets (or the sprue itself) into the key joints of the terrain pieces and allowing you to break apart your terrain as needed. Keep in mind that in the video the adjoining sections might not line up perfectly since these terrain pieces are resin and have some warping.

Gluing the magnets into the cylinder columns is the key to the modular terrain configurations.

These magnetized columns allow for adjoining wall pieces to be connected to begin building your terrain. Floors can also be added with special attachments that connect to the top of the columns. Rampart’s floor sections allow for even further customization to your terrain and how you want to build it.

If you don’t want to add floor sections, you can stack two walls on top of each other. The ends of the walls allow for the attachment of columns, or are open to give a more ruins feel to your terrain. These open sections can also be connected in any configuration you wish.

For even greater customization, the Rampart terrain models come with additional accents that you can add to the walls and columns to add either a fantasy feel or sci-fi feel depending on your game of choice. Once this Kickstarter is funded, there will be a brand new way to keep your terrain flexible on your tabletop!
