Happy New Year & Titanic Inspiration!

Happy New Year to you all!!!

Well another year has gone by, and as you may know according to the Myans? we all only have about 12 months left to finish up all our hobby projects!

I for one will probably fall short. Sigh, I’m thinking I have about a five year backlog on projects at the very least, and of course there is the old modeler adage that once you finish all your projects you pass away on the spot regardless, lol.

Well…to get us all pumped for the New Imperial Year. I scanned and cropped this amazing piece of artwork from the Forge World Imperial Armor Badab War 2 book (It also makes a great e-Reader Background).

BAM! I am certainly motivated.  Here at Spikey Bits central I have a brand new airbrush, and have been honing my airbrushing skillz of late. So look for some airbrushing articles on here in the near future as well.

Checkout this finished Grey Knight I did recently. The one on the left is mine, and the on the right was done by Kenny from Next Level Painting.  I’m happy that I even came close, as Kenny is a true professional with the airbrush and makes it look embarrassingly easy (which its not easy at all).

So I’ll be messing around with the airbrush here, as well as gearing up for Adepticon 2012. It’s their big ten year anniversary this year and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon!

Here’s to another great year for the hobby! What do you plan on doing this year with your hobby? -MBG

Spikey Bits sprung from Rob staying motivated to hobby on his backlog of projects, while sharing his knowledge with others during the early blogging era.

LEGO maniac and scale model hobbyist in the 80s turned miniature wargamer and trading card player ever since. He’s played every edition of Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Fantasy (since 5th Edition), but Titans of all sizes will always be his favorite! It’s even rumored that his hobby vault rivals the Solemnance Galleries, containing rulebooks filled with lore from editions long past, ancient packs of black-bordered Magic Cards, and minatures made of pewter and resin.
