Today we’re going to be asking a question that got a lot of people talking recently. It’s 2018, do you hobby with Primaris Marines now?
Do you hobby with Primaris Marines? That was a question asked in the Spikey Bits Facebook group, and there was a huge response from the community. However, after reading the comments, I was a little surprised at how it was split almost down the middle of people that loved them, and then the ones who couldn’t stand them.
The response had a lot of people, like Brendon, who thought the models looked great, but they just couldn’t get past the lore side of things, and it makes some sense. You mean to tell me Primaris Marines wouldn’t have been helpful in any of the past couple Black Crusades… So before Guilliman goes into stasis he hires Cawl to create better marines, he takes a nap, and Cawl just sat there saying to himself “Well, they don’t get the product until I get my payment, I don’t care how much they could use them right now.” Now that’s funny…
But, like I said earlier, the response was split down the middle, there is plenty of people who thoroughly enjoy the new Primaris.
Joe made a good point that if you don’t like the fluff you can create your own backstory for your minis. And it turns out he’s not the only one that likes to hobby them, there was a lot of pictures in the comments of people showing off their Primaris and all the work they’ve put into them. But my favorite was by Christopher M. Statkowski, with the attached message “Khorne approves of this Primaris!!!“
Khorne cares not from whence the blood flows, only that it flows.
Yes sir, yes he does! This is a great example of hobbying at its finest, and just goes to show that if you like the model but it’s not available for your faction, you can very easily make it yourself.
While the overall response on the post was great, the feedback and opinions of everyone were interesting to read for sure.
Love them or hate them, Primaris Marines are here to stay, and it will be very interesting to see what Games Workshop does with the Space Wolves and Primaris after Magnus had his way on Fenris.
