News on Abaddon and new rules for 40k, plus a wave of new releases for Khorne in Age of Sigmar are on the way for next week!

According to Warhammer Community, Khorne is coming! In less than a week, Games Workshop is releasing new models, rules, and more for Age of Sigmar with tons of conversion opportunities for Warhammer 40k as well.

First up: the Blades of Khorne Battletome:

This is your complete guide to fielding your very own army dedicated to the Blood God in the Age of Sigmar. The battletome builds on all the stuff you love from the original, with key improvements to several warscrolls and expanded rules, alongside new lore and art that illustrates Khorne’s role in the Soul Wars. Stay tuned next week for more in-depth previews from the book.

Like other battletomes, Blades of Khorne will be released alongside a beautiful Limited Edition and a set of ever-useful Warscroll Cards – make sure to grab these early to avoid disappointment!

Khorne

As you probably know, Khorne really, really hates Wizards, but not even the Blood God could resist the power of the Arcanum Optimar – the strange magical storm that resulted in endless spells. Blood Blessings are Khornate equivalents of endless spells, summoned to battle by Slaughterpriests. Each has a devastating impact on the game – the Hexgorger Skulls, for example, cause Wizards to forget spells entirely, while the Wrath-axe is a deadly source of damage. Unlike endless spells, they can’t be dispelled by Wizards, making them particularly dangerous for foes who rely on magic. Just as Khorne intended…

Bloodmaster

This valuable addition to your collection of Daemons will make your nasty Bloodletters even more devilish with aura abilities.
The return of Khorne to the Mortal Realms was the ideal opportunity to bring this dark champion to life in plastic.

Skulltaker

Of all Khorne’s heralds, few are as feared as Skulltaker. This brutal Bloodletter has a particular hunger for the heads of heroes, ever in search of the very greatest skulls to lay at the feet of the Skull Throne. Skulltaker will be receiving a new plastic model for use in games of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, an eye-catching miniature that’ll stand out from the rest of your Khorne collection, that also makes a fun one-off project for painting. After all, what better model to claim a Slayer Sword with than the model that actually wields the Slayer Sword?

Skull Altar

This new terrain piece lets you get the most out of worshipping the Blood God and allows your priests to re-roll their Prayer and Judgement rolls.

GW says the Skull Altar will get rules for 40k very soon.
What’s more, the Skull Altar will soon be getting rules for Warhammer 40,000, making it ideal for Khorne collections whichever universe you prefer.

Karanak & Flesh Hounds

Lastly, next week will see Karanak, the Hound of Vengeance and the plastic Flesh Hounds available outside of Wrath and Rapture, making adding them to your army or expanding an existing pack even easier.

Khorne
And if you were patiently waiting for news on Abaddon, GW says the Warmaster will definitely be ready “to pre-order by the end of the month.”

Loads of the new Khorne releases will be usable in your Warhammer 40,000 Chaos army, with Vigilus Ablaze providing new rules for Skulltaker and the Bloodmaster, as well as the Skull Altar. Combined with the Daemonkin from Shadowspear, you’ll be able to make some seriously brutal armies.

Which of these new releases are you looking forward to the most? Will you be transforming your gaming experience? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group, and get your free hobby updates each morning as well!
