Primate Weaponsmiths: Jokaero Lore

JokaeroArmies-on-Parade-Lore-40k-inquisition titleJokaero lore is interesting because while they have no discernable language, they somehow can craft weapons of amazing potential.

Who doesn’t love an Orangutan working for the good of the Imperium? We sure do! While they can’t communicate very well with the Inquisitors they are attached to, they sure make up for it with their amazing weapon creations! Their innate knowledge of tech allows them to actually modify weapons and armor in the heat of battle. Get out your favorite monkey snack and let’s learn about some lore!

Manipulated by the Slaan?

JokaeroThe physical appearance of the Jokaero has led many to believe they are actually from ancient Terra originally. They resemble Orangutans so closely, it’s hard to deny the possibility. So much so that some Imperial Savants have even gone so far as to speculate that they were genetically modified by the Slaan forever ago. Just in case you didn’t know, the Slaan are said to have visited Terra many times and had a hand in the evolution of human life on the planet.

It would almost make sense because the Jokaero have an innate ability to manipulate technology. They can create tech from the most rudimentary parts that can be used by almost any race. Where when a race like the Orks make something, they are almost exclusively the ones who can use it.

Use by Inquisitors

inquisitor 1Of course, when something like them comes around, the Imperium is going to make use of them. While only the more radical Inquisitors have been adding them to their retinue, they do show up every now and again. Generally, it is the Order Xenos that employs these wild primates. Hey, when you’re fending off aliens of all kinds, might as well make use of what you have!

Why do they enlist them? Because they can modify armor and weapons in the middle of a battle to better defend against or destroy the enemy! Since it’s hard to actually tell them exactly what to do, sometimes the changes are merely aesthetic, and other times they turn simple weapons into killing machines. So, if you have one next to you, just better to let it do its thing! If your Lasgun starts blasting apart Chaos Cultists with ease, would you complain?

On top of that, they seem to make some of the best force fields anyone has ever seen. If you don’t want to die on a backwater world, best take a Jokaero with you! Lastly, they make some of the smallest and deadliest digital weapons ever. If they grant you a ring randomly one day, just be ready for it to blow stuff up!
