Three 40k Armies Go Undefeated at Siegeworld GT

kharn azrael chaos space marine heroes series 1 2 3

The top three placings of the Siegeworld 40k tourney managed to go undefeated. Check out what they brought and tell us how it compares to your army list!

The Siegeworld tourney had nearly one-hundred players enter in to fight for first place. With so many competitive lists under one roof, these three had the gusto to push through to the top three spots.

Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we can look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.

3rd Place: Space Marines- Richard Windau

Starting off with this Space Marine army, a Battalion of Scouts were led by two Smash Captains. One had a Storm Shield for some added protection while the other just had the Thunder Hammer. The key thing here is that the Captain’s goal without the Storm Shield is to die in combat so he can spend 2CP to fight again. Taking his shield away just meant it was easier for him to bite the dust. siegeworld marine 2Ladies and Gentlemen, the Repulsor isn’t half bad when it’s paired with Guilliman. (Then again, what isn’t). But this is the first time we’ve seen the Repulsor Executioner used in a list that made it to the top! And of course, the Primaris Eliminators hung back on the objectives and sniped characters as they spotted them.

2nd Place: Daemons- Reed Sto

Daemons are still hanging in the meta strong and this list claimed 2nd place. Working off of two Battalions and a Supreme Command, the first detachment was loaded down with Plaguebearers and one squad of Nurglings. These guys also had 2 of the three Plaguebearer key characters leading them along with a Daemon Prince. Next, a Tzeentch Battalion was brought with the new Infernal Enrapturess from Wrath and Rapture box, a Daemon Prince and Changecaster leading a massive blob of Pink Horrors and a few Brimstones.

With all of the screens covered, Ahriman with two other Sorcerers and a Daemon Prince banded together in a Supreme Command Detachment. This list has plenty of bodies for enemies to chew threw. While the Plaguebearers crept forward, Daemon Princes would leap out and obliterate things in melee. Meanwhile, the two Sorcerers and Ahriman hung back and made sure the psychic side was covered. This list lacks some shooting but makes up for it with amazing melee characters and unkillable screens.

1st Place: Aeldari- Ben Cherwien

And for first place, Ben ran two lists essentially mashed into one. It took aspects from the Aeldari Flyer spam list as well as the Wave Serpent-chassis spam list and spliced them together in 2k points. Seven planes in total made up the airforce with Crimson Hunter Exarchs having the unique ability of pivot, move, and pivot.

That essentially means that they can deny a huge portion of the map in a controlled way. (If you’ve got two next to each other, they can just swap places). Meanwhile, the Razorwing Jetfighters raced ahead with their Disintegrator cannons and went tank hunting. While the guns might have a lower strength, at -3 AP and 2 damage a pop, these guys can kill just about anything in the light-medium armor class.

Finally, for the ground force, three Wave Serpents and three Night Spinners played tactically. We all know that Wave Serpents have proven themselves as an amazing weapon platform for the points in the meta but the Night Spinners are on the rise now as well. They’re still on the same Wave Serpent Chassis but are considered a Heavy Support and have a Rending 2D6 shot cannon. All in all, great job at bringing two Aeldari lists in one and rising to the top of the competition!
