This week we are cracking open the Wargames Atlantic Bulldogs set and seeing how they look, plus getting some ideas for what all they can be used for and how they can be converted with existing Imperial Guard models. Custom regiments are so hot right now, and with this set, you can make an affordable army with these great minis!
Rob will show you everything the models come with, how long they take to build, and how easy the conversions are. That way, you can decide if these boxes are worth your hard-earned hobby dollars.
Wargames Atlantic Bulldogs Set: Unboxing & Build
Looking at Wargames Atlantic’s site, they have all kinds of cool sci-fi minis and tons of historical stuff. They also distribute to tons of stores throughout the world, so if you want to support your local store as well as them, you may also be able to pick these up from yours as well.
You can find all of the stores that carry WGA on their easy-to-use store finder.
They are in the works of adding to their own Death Fields game, so you may also be able to use these for that soon as well! Plus, they also have an insane amount of fantasy models that can be used in the Grimdark with just a little conversion work. some of their sets even come with sci-fi weapons, so no conversions are necessary to get a ton of crazy armies.
Either way, you get 24 models for $35, so really hard to beat that!
Sprues
For the price, it’s almost impossible to find 24 models now for the same quality! They have a ton of bits, weapon options, and basically anything you could want.
The detail is great on these, and depending on the bits you use, they can have a different feel to them.
As you can see, there are also some cool WW1-styled bits as well.
Assembled Minis
We know we said it already, but for the price, the detail and look of these are basically impossible to beat!
They have plenty of weapon and head options, so if you want a ton of options and minis, this is the set for you.
You can even have a guy drinking tea, so that’s cool.
Conversions
You can also convert them up easily with their other sets for some wild minis.
Plus, the heads and backpacks are compatible with Games Workshop kits (likeCadians); they just look great. While the backpacks don’t look too different from normal Cadian models, they add a little bit of oomph to your army.
There is also the option to build with Cadian bodies and throw the guns and heads on. The only issue is the dreaded double belt that is visible from the torso and leg bits.
However, the gun arms aren’t exact, so it might be hard to put just the guns from the Cadian models onto these.
Still, they look cool enough on their own to just use them as a custom regiment!
Final Thoughts
Overall, if you want a lot of miniatures for less, it’s hard to beat these models. They look great, are affordable, and will make your army stand out with many poses and equipment combinations.
