New 40k Tyranids Release Hampered by Shipping Delays & Errors

latest-delays games workshopIt looks like a lot of the new 40k Tyranids release shipments are getting hit with delays to both stores and customers.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen big delays on new releases, but at least there was a silver lining this time around, as the releases were not allocated this time. However, if you ordered the new Tyranids models or are planning on picking them up from your local retailer, you may have to wait a little longer than expected, especially in the UK.

These are not the latest logistical errors playing GW lately either, as the Space Marine Heroes 4, and Combat Arena Lair of the Beast were both announced for pre-order and then never actually made it.

On top of that, Legion Imperialis is also delayed indefinitely, supposedly because of rulebook issues.

New 40k Tyranids Release Hampered by Shipping Delays

These rumors of new 40k Tyranids release shipping delays come from Bolter and Chainsword.

As usual GW strikes again, just came off the phone to customer service an email will be going out ( supposedly) tomorrow to online purchasers and independents that there is a delay in shipment with the new tyranid orders as there has been a problem with stock at the warehouse, some people have their purchases coming, if not in receipt of the shipping email  already you can expect it up to the week after next, this is excluding the 9 day window for actual shipping.

wonderful

Well, adding a week onto the shipping time isn’t the craziest thing we’ve ever heard, but it is frustrating when you’ve already paid and you’re waiting to get your hands on those new miniatures!

Plus, this is already on top of their supposed normal shipping and handling period of 9 days, so for some, it may be well over two weeks from ordering to actually getting the products.

Norn EmissaryMeanwhile, anyone going into GW corporate stores (at least here in the States) and local stores had access to some Tyranids merch on release day.

The Errors Will Continue Until GW Improves

That being said, we can confirm that nearly every LGS we talked with has had some error with their order. Some even got them days after the Saturday release (either due to Labor Day shipping delays, faulty GW logistics, or both).

This is also unfortunate since this is the first release in a long time that wasn’t allocated, so a lot of stores were banking on this to help kick-start some sales for 10th Edition and a traditionally slow September. Plus, it’s always frustrating to hear of store owners having to explain to everyone why their orders are not there when it’s no fault of their own.

GW store instide

In contrast, all the Games Workshop corporate stores we polled received their orders in time for release on Saturday. We think it is pretty interesting that Games Workshop can’t seem to get everything out at once while their corporate stores are unaffected by the errors and delays…
