GW’s New Space Marine Heroes Series 4 Release Went Missing…

Space-Marines-heroes-release-missingThe Space Marine Heroes Series 4 release went missing without a trace in the States, as not even Games Workshop seemed to know what was going on.

Many hobbyists were excited about the new Space Marine Heroes series 4 Strike Force Justian release for Kill Team, but unfortunately, they did not go to hobby retailers and went to big box stores instead.

Basically, they have all but disappeared into the warp, selling out across the world, as GW didnt seem to have any idea when they will be available in each of their sales regions.

GW’s New Space Marine Heroes 4 Release Went Missing…

After a bit of confusion, Games Workshop posted where you can find the new Space Marine Heroes 4 (now called Warhammer Heroes) release as of Saturday, September 9th, 2023. However, stores in the States were left out.  GW originally said you couldn’t get them from their webstore but could only grab them from retailers.

Seven months after they were available to the rest of the world, in April 2024, we found out who those retailers were for the United States.

Here was the original solicitation from GW back in September of 2023 for the Space Marines Heroes 4:

These models will initially be available from the following stockists in these regions:

  • Canada: GameStop Canada and independent retailers
  • Germany: Muller and GameStop
  • Japan: Surugaya stores, Furuhon Ichiba stores, and independent retailers
  • Vietnam: Fahasa
  • Thailand: Asia Books

They will also be available in independent retailers in the UK, USA, Australia, China, Europe, and New Zealand. They may well be coming to more regions and in other formats in the future, so keep your eyes peeled!

GW’s New Space Marine Heroes 4 Release Has Gone Missing…

The latest on Space Marines Heroes 4 is from Warhammer Community.

Warhammer Heroes series 4

The Space Marine Heroes series of collectible blind box miniatures returns, now known as Warhammer Heroes, with a new set of lucky dip models. Series 4 comprises seven new miniatures from a variety of Space Marine squads, featuring Intercessors, an Assault Intercessor, a Heavy Intercessor, an Eliminator, and even a Captain, all entirely new for this set. They will be available in retailers across the United States, Germany, Japan, China, and Australia – but note that you won’t be able to buy them directly from the Games Workshop webstore.

So, we thought that by retailers, they were talking about game stores. However, this was not the case. When GW announced these miniatures for pre-order back in 2023, they were absent from the new release pricing list sent to stores each week.

New Releases Have Gone MissingAs you can see, the SM Heroes box was completely removed from the trade sales new releases sheet for local game stores, which confirms that they were not even given the option to grab the boxes anywhere in the world.

These boxes have since been released in every region except the US, which finally received their announcement on April 21st, 2024.

Warhammer Heroes Series 4 Comes to Target

After going missing in September 2023 in North America, the Warhammer Heroes blind box miniatures featuring Strike Force Justian were available on Target’s website in the United States. The fourth series consists of seven miniatures from different Space Marine squads, including Intercessors, an Assault Intercessor, a Heavy Intercessor, an Eliminator, and a Captain, with a random figure in each box.

Each miniature comes with its own Kill Team datacard, which contains all the rules and a team ploy, and you can start playing with any six of the seven operatives. It’s important to note that you cannot purchase them directly from the Warhammer.com webstore.

They were limited to three per purchase when they were available from the Target webstore here.

Big Box Stores Release Problems

In the past year, Big Box retailers have acquired GW releases like this, including the Space Marine Board Game and Combat Arena. However, these releases have also faced some challenges

New Releases Have Gone Missing 2Combat Arena was supposed to be on pre-order on the 2nd of July 2023 from Barnes and Noble, but they basically flubbed the release with nothing available (not in-store, either).

Not only did they mess up the release, but Barnes and Noble hilariously deleted all reviews talking about the issues. As you can see, it says there are 0 reviews for the product, but luckily, we screen-grabbed one before they deleted it.

New Releases Have Gone MissingAs you can see, 42 people found this helpful, and they are 100% correct, as Barnes & Noble has deleted their review!

Space Marine Heroes 4 Sold Out & Are Missing Again

Update: a day after the Games Workshop announcement for the US and subsequent sell-out, we just got a notification that these items were back in stock again at Target. So, it is possible that these may be available as stock fluctuates from Target’s distribution network.

sold out space marines heroes series 4

Sadly, the Space Marines Heroes Series 4 box has sold out at Target already. From what we observed, it took a little under an hour for them to sell out. Perhaps some Target stores will still receive shipments for the shelves, as GW indicated in their Sunday teaser post, so you may want to keep your eyes open the next time you are in one of Target’s stores.

Regardless, if you’re looking to grab the new Space Marine Heroes boxes here in the States, get ready for them to hit eBay. Just like with the Lair of the Beast, it looks like they will be going for premium once again!

What do you think about the fact that this week’s new Games Workshop Space Marine heroes release went missing only to sell out in less than an hour?
