Army Showcase: Death Guard by Doug Waltman

A few months ago I went to Cabin Fever GT in Harrisonburg, PA. There was a ton of great looking armies there and I got permission from their owners to post them up.

The first army was Death Guard by Doug Waltman.  Doug is a really cool dude, and volunteers to help run Mechanicon GT, along with Tony Spino and the rest of their crew. They put on a great tourney so make sure you try to make it this year to Mechanicon ’10.

This is a really nicely done army with elements of many colors and styles blending together. The conversions were also very well done, especially all the sergeants and standard bearers.  He also gave special attention to his HQ choices, a Lord and Greater Daemon.

I also like how he did his display base, sinking small rare earth magnets into a cork base. He also used the City Fight terrain to build up some ruins around the plateaus as well.

Anyways check out his work and make sure if you even see him you give him Kudos!

Scale model hobbyist in the 80s, miniature wargamer, and trading card player ever since. He’s played every edition of Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Fantasy since 5th Edition, but Titans of all sizes will always be his favorite! It’s even rumored that his hobby vault rivals the Solemnance Galleries, containing rulebooks filled with lore from editions long past, ancient packs of black-bordered Magic Cards, and minatures made of both pewter and resin.
