Don’t miss the latest on what’s coming next for Warhammer 40k’s Kill Team as more on Commanders was just spotted.

Chapter Master Valrak visited a Warhammer World’s Kill Team Open Day recently and managed to gather up some information as best he could. Let’s take a better look at what’s coming to our new favorite skirmish game.

RUMORS: What’s in Store Next for 40k’s Kill Team

Kill Team Commanders:

As of right now, there’s no determined release date. But with Commanders coming out, the points are apparently supposed to go up. That way, players will still be able to bring a normal-sized Kill Teams along with the new characters.

From the pictures in the video, it looks like the first wave of leaders is coming to:

  • Genestealer Cult
  • Dark Eldar
  • Tyranids
  • Orks
  • Imperial Guard
  • Deathwatch
  • Necrons
  • Admech
  • Tau
  • Adeptus Astartes

If you play a Kill Team that doesn’t have a Commander listed, don’t worry! More Commanders are on the way. (over 30 to be exact).

One important thing to note: There are no new models coming into the Commander boxes. The art may be different from other sets, but the models are nothing that we haven’t seen before.

Why Bring a Commander?

Why would players want to bring a Commander? Well, Commanders are getting ten specialisms as well as a handful of unique traits that no one else can take.

Exclusive Scenarios

The Commander model isn’t the only thing that will be in these Box Sets. There’ll be a book full of exclusive missions that involve Commanders. For example, there will be one mission (more than likely narrative), that pits one Commander against an entire Kill Team.

This may sound a little unfair, but there are sure to be rules in place to give a good, balanced game.

Where’s the Inquisition & Other Factions?

When Valrak managed to speak to one GW’s studio guys, and he asked about the Inquisitor Kill Team. All the spokesman said was “Yes that would be awesome” and smiled back.

Obviously, there was no definite YES given here, but it sounds like there’s definitely something in the works for Inquisition in Kill Team.

When Custodes and Sisters of Silence were brought up in conversation, no real comments were made here.

Now that we’re in a waiting period, we have to ask…what Commander are you going to use? Will you rampage with a Broodlord or command from the back with a Necron Overlord?

Do you think Inquisition will be introduced into Kill Team in a big way? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
