GW just released Age of Sigmar rules for Drekki Flynt and Cado Ezechiar Warscrolls, Battleplans, and more for FREE!
With the Black Library novels coming out, GW also released the main characters from the books, which is always cool to see. They will be hitting pre-order Saturday, August 20th, 2022, around 1 pm EST. So it’s cool to see the rules before they are released and whether you want to spend the $35 on them. You can see the prices and book releases here.
Warhammer Community just released the rules, along with a bunch of background on the characters and some painting guides. Let’s check out the rules and models!
The Models
Guy Haley’s novel is available in hardback, ebook, and audiobook editions, and is accompanied by a stunning new miniature of our protagonist. Armed with his custom scatter gun and an axe-skyhook combo – not to mention his cutting wit – Drekki is pretty handy in a fight. His rules will be available to download for free from Warhammer Community next week, so you can use him in your games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
On the page, John French’s novel The Hollow King follows the star of Beasts and Tower of Empty Mirrors on his path of revenge against the forces of Chaos. Can he navigate through a web of deceit while remaining bound to his code and obsession for vengeance? Find out in hardback, ebook, and audiobook formats.
AoS Rules: New Drekki Flynt & Cado Ezechiar Warscrolls
In game terms, the Court of the Lost enhances Cado’s spellcasting, movement, or combat capabilities, while his Ezechiarian Greatsword boasts 5 Attacks at Rend -2 which deal 2 Damage apiece.
The Soulsearching battleplan pits Cado and a roving band of mercenaries against a warlord’s tower packed with guards, revellers, and nobles. Each quarter of the battlefield represents a floor of the fortress that the Hollow King must fight his way up in a gruelling gauntlet of custom rules.
He has decent stats with five attacks, hitting/wounding on 3’s, -2 Rend, and 2 Damage. However, his strength really comes in with the special rules. All three of the spirits are really cool, and if you just run him into combat, he will be dealing all kinds of Mortal Wounds and could theoretically deal up to ten! Then his spell is cool because it can either deal damage or heal up your units.
In command of this craft, and while armed with his ever-reliable triple-barrelled pistol, he can truly make waves. His unique Equaliser MK.III pumps out 2D6 shots with Rend -1 and 2 Damage, helping him live up to his legend.
Fittingly, Drekki’s battleplan is Mutiny on the Aelsling. Two armies made up of a motley band of heroes battle it out for control of the ship, with unique command abilities such as Daring Rope Swing. Take the wheel to win, while watching your footing and keeping an eye out for the hungry Harkraken writhing below.
If you roll well with his pistol, you can really deal a serious amount of damage. However, you could also roll doubles 1’s and basically do nothing! Then, he makes your frigates much better, grabs re-rolls, and can do 3 Mortals for free (just don’t roll a one…) on a monster after he attacks. Lastly, turning off an artifact on a 3+ is really sweet! Lastly, they kept the points very close for both models, which is nice!
Battle Plans
They also each come with a battleplan which could make for some really cool narrative games!
