The 2021 US Open Orlando tournament is over and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what the winners brought in their armies.

Again this week we decided to grab our favorite lists instead because the actual top was mostly the same lists we’ve seen plenty of times before.

Bryan Malpass- Tzeentch

orlando open tze 1Bryan went for 3 Detachments with the first actually being an Undivided Daemons Battalion. It is led by a Changcaster and Changeling who are both cheap characters that give some basic psychic support.

Troops bring in 50 Horrors, which serve as body shields and can also deal ok damage if they make it into range at full strength. Elites bring in 8 Flamers, which are some of the only Daemon ranged units and aren’t too bad thanks to their auto-hits. The battalion rounds out with a single unit of 5 Furies for just a touch of mobility and a few extra points.

orlando open tze 2Next up is a patrol of Thousand Sons led by Ahriman and a Sorcerer in Terminators Armor. Both of these provide some great psychic support and are pretty hard to kill. Troops bring in a whopping 20 Rubric Marine blob, no doubt this is meant to take full advantage of targeted buffs to get the most bodies benefiting as possible.

orlando open tze 3The 3rd detachment is another Patrol of Thousand Sons, this time led by a Daemon Prince and a second Sorcerer in Terminator Armour. Once again, these provide good psychic support, are hard to kill, and are decent in combat themselves. This patrol however went for a small unit of 10 cultists and left some point overhang.

It’s great to see Tzeentch do well as they just got a codex for the Thousand Sons. With a little luck they may help shake up the meta in the coming weeks.

With them all going undefeated, what do you think about all three of these most recent lists?
