Don’t miss the latest portents that could signal the long-awaited arrival of the Scion of the IX Legion, the Primarch Sanguinius in February!
If you’ve been following the news and rumors, you probably know that a lot of people out there think Sanguinius’s model is right around the corner for the Horus Heresy. Games Workshop and Forge World have both been giving us these little hints that something is coming.
Check out the latest hits and teasers that may herald the arrival of the Angel to the tabletop.
Clue #1: Malevolence & Signus Prime
Here’s all the coverage from the Malevolence seminar and with some updates from Battle Bunnies who were at the event.
Malevolence Seminar – it’s all about daemons, Blood Angels, White Scars, Space Wolves and Alpha Legion.
New Daemon kits coming to combat Legions. Variations and upgrades. They are still working on the rules, and are looking at militia-style rule builds.
Chondax and Signus Prime
Signus Prime will be based around the Sigus system and combating Daemons. Chondax will be based around Alpha Legion trying to stall the White Scars leaving their Chondax Crusade. Rules for Jaghatti and Sanguinius!
Looking at the timeline, the Signus Prime campaign is highlighted in red for the Blood Angels. As we move into the timeline, we can only expect to see Sanguinius pop up in there at any point. -As this is the only part of the Heresy timeline highlighted for the Blood Angels.
Clue #2: Forge World Teases Art
We’ve reached 100,000 Facebook fans! That’s a veritable Legion of Forge World fanatics. To reward your loyalty, here’s some brand new artwork from an upcoming release (can you guess which one?)
Because Forge World reached 100,000 likes on their Facebook Page, they decided to give the fans a little something in return. This art has Sanguinius and Ka’Bandha dueling in the midst of chaos. What’s better yet, is that Forge World said that the art is based off an upcoming release.
Clue #3: New Blood Angel Units Dec ’18
Remember we’ve already seen the new Blood Angel Praetors, and Contemptor’s hit the Forge World store back in December of 2018. As we can see below they look to be heralds for even more Legion releases.
So with Sanguinius and Ka’Bandha fighting in some art and there is the mention of Blood Angels and a focus on Daemons in-game, maybe Sanguinius’s arrival will, in fact, be with Book VIII Malevolence, as we know according to the previews there will be several primarch rules in there.
Clue #4: New Blood Angel Units Previewed Jan ’19
We’ve been seeing Forge World preview and release a bunch of new Blood Angels models for 30k. They’re all donned in their exquisite red and gold-trimmed armor and it’s all happening right before the Horus Heresy Weekender event.
While these new models may not point exactly to Sanguinius, it puts us at a time where we think they are at a perfect position to drop a Primarch as well. Why put out a bunch of new models specific to a Legion and not bring the Primarch in after you give them so much attention?
Clue #5: [REDACTED BY THE INQUISITION]
In an article talking about what’s on the way from Forge World, they even said that there was something else coming that they haven’t previewed yet.
Oh – and there’s one more thing. Something SO AWESOME we couldn’t fit it into the article. Something Forge World fans have been looking forward to for a very, very long time. We’ll have more on just what that is very soon…
Keep in mind that they were talking about a new Blood Angels unit for part of the article as well.

Warhammer World is hosting their big Horus Heresy Weekender February 2-3rd, 2019. This will be the first major Heresy event to kick off the year and look at what Legion is on the cover of the ticket. Out of all of the releases and previews we’ve seen, Forge World keeps telling us that they’ll be available at the Weekender event. The stage could be set perfectly for Sanguinius to make a guest appearance there.
