Have you been wondering what’s in store for Space Marines in 2019? New rumors were spotted giving us a heads up on what could be in store for Primaris units in 2019. These are coming from “Industry Professionals” so remember to take everything you read here with a grain of salt.
Before we jump right into the latest, make sure you’re up to speed on all the rumors we’ve seen about Primaris so far:
New Rumor Engines Suggest Primaris in the Works
We’ve been saying for a while now that all Primaris need to send them over the “hump” into competitive play is a points reduction and speed. As of right now, the only way to get your Primaris up the board is with a transport just costs too much for what it does. If Primaris had different routes players could take in terms of mobility, then they would be a lot more potent.
Taking a look at a few of the rumor engines we’ve seen, Primaris look to definitely be in the works behind the scenes.
Could this rumor engine from a while back be the tail end of the Primaris medium transport? It definitely has the likeness of the Repulsor. Hopefully, it would be some kind of cheap transport solely designed to get models up the field quickly. Maybe a Primaris hover Rhino!
There’s nothing that’s been confirmed about this rumor engine. But to us, this bit looks like the backpack of a Primaris unit. It’s got the same grill as all the other packs do. Could this be the back of a new character like a Primaris Techmarine? We’ve already seen a Primaris Apothecary, Librarian, and Chaplain. That’s really all we’re missing. Plus, it would make sense to see a Techmarine pop up with all the rumors of Primaris vehicles units coming.

More Primaris Rumors Spotted: Vehicle Support Coming
- New Space Marine Codex scheduled for early 2019. (It would make sense as GW usually reboots the Space Marine Codex mid-edition thanks to power creep).
- A close-combat designed Primaris unit with different weapon options. (These could be the Terminators of Primaris units).
- Some kind of Primaris Tank kit with different main turret options. (This could replace the Predator)
- New Fast one-man vehicles similar to Bikes/Land Speeders.
- A Primaris Medium Transport. (something cheap with a decent carrying capacity could work)
- Small Primaris Flyer
If these rumors are true, Primaris could be getting exactly what they needed from the start of 8th edition. We know the new White Dwarf Index Astarte feature rules are adding to the bloat of 8th Edition, so there will be plenty of new content from Vigilus and the WD to fill a new Space Marine codex.
Primaris Space Marines did get a decent amount of help with the Vigilus book and the Indomitus Crusaders Formation. However, they still need more to bring them up to speed.
