It may seem strange, but now is a great time to get into Age of Sigmar because Dominion is not selling incredibly well.
It feels a little counter-intuitive because if the new launch box didn’t sell very well, doesn’t that mean issues for the game? Not really,, we think it just means GW overestimated the hype for the product. It actually means there will be opportunities for you to trade, get minis cheaper, and actually the Dominion box for a discount.
Normally everything sells out in like two seconds and the scalpers have a field day, this is one of the few times where you can actually grab some discounts because retailers are overstocked!
If you’ve been looking at AoS don’t wait around too long and lose the possibility for some discounts. Plus, with the new edition just starting, you can easily get into the rules along with everyone else and not start way behind the rules creep for the edition.
Now is a Great Time to Get into Age of Sigmar (cheap)
First up, with Dominion still being available on GW’s site, means there are tons of boxes still out in the wild. Local stores have already started discounting them as the reboxed versions have already been released by GW.

So, right off the bat, it has really good value inside, then on top of that, if you get it for cheaper, it’s an even better deal. We’re not saying you should go haggle your local store, but if you see one on sale and have been wanting to play, grab that up!
Next, there’s a ton of opportunity for trades right now. If you pick up the Dominion box, you can easily give away the half of the box you don’t want for more minis! Meaning with a little effort, you could almost get an entire army through trades for 200 bucks, which in Warhammer is quite the deal.
Especially with all the new minis still coming out for both the Stormcast and Kruleboyz, you could trade-in or sell the other half of the box and save up for the new awesome minis still coming out.
Lastly, with the new edition just starting, you are getting in early. Meaning you can be on a level playing field with more experienced players and before a ton of rules creep has hit the game. Which is generally the most fun time to play. So, if you want to play, now is the time to start!
