Matthew Geyer 1

Matthew’s Tau is a 2 detachment set up with the first being a patrol led by Longstrike and a Coldstar Commander. Longstrike brings some decent list support and is just a tank, which at the end of the day is nice having the extra firepower if nothing else. Coldstar has insane mobility and a fairly versatile weapon selection making for a very fast-ranged threat that can wipe out models with relative ease.

Troops keep it simple with a 10-man Kroot squad just for some dirt cheap bodies to fill the slot requirement.

Matthew Geyer 2

Elites bring in a 5 man Crisis squad running a Burst Cannon and 2 Plasma each for some chaff clearing and anti-armor, perfect for marines, or even something bigger!

Heavy Support has a single Hammerhead for some extra long-range fire support to pair with the Longstrike.

The second Patrol is led by Aun’Va and an Enforcer Commander. Aun’Va grants access to 3 Invocations, which are the powerful support options that replace Psychic Powers for the Tau. The Commander is notably less mobile than the Coldstar in the other detachment, but it still features a great weapon selection, making it a fantastic solo model.

Troops again keep it to the minimum with a 10-man Kroot squad.

Elites add in another identical 5-man Crisis squad.

The army then closes with a third detachment running Shadowsun, who is easily the faction’s best single model with great firepower and support packed all into one fantastic tool for the Tau players to use.
