Instead of his usual painting tutorial, Squidmar is trying to see what kind of value can be had on Fiverr with cheap commissions from various artists.

Squidmar has been killing it with his painting tutorials, but today’s Fiverr experiment is an interesting change-up. Although he faces quite a few challenges with prices and conflicts, he does get a few commissions and is even pleasantly surprised. Let’s check it out!

golden demon refferenceThe reference he used was a little unrealistic as it was a Golden Demon contest submission. However, he just wants them to aim for it, not really achieve it, as most of them are only doing it for $10-$40 USD.

zanji modelThe First model is from Zanjidesign and costs relatively low. Even with that, he still tried non-metallic metals and they look really good. Although its a little more matte than the reference, it is still very well done at that price point.

dunford modelThe second model is from Dunford861. He didn’t really follow the paint scheme too well, but given the time frame, it’s okay. On a side note, he was one of the first to complete and mail the model.

twoelbows modelThird up is Theguywithtwoelbows. Once again, there are some minor issues, but given the price it’s acceptable. He did match the orange color better than Dunford but his blacks are a little messy and very bold.

Brushlicker modelThe fourth model was done by Brushlicker. He once again didn’t quite hit the orange tone, but his colors and lines are extremely clean. He even finished and matched the base of the model to the reference.

fredrick modelThe fifth model was done by a speed painter named Fredrick. His shading is the best so far, however, the base is wrong and some of the colors like the red shoulders are also wrong.

aemil modelThe last model was done by Aemil and was the most expensive. His color and shading are near perfect and the base is extremely well done. However, it should be as it was twice as much and the second most expensive.

In the end, he said his top 3 were Zanji, due to his value-quality ratio, Fredrick for his quality, and Aemil for his insane quality even at the highest price.
