What If: Black Templars Heavy Cavalry!

Remember these guys? Check out this hot painted squad by Jkin after the jump!

Move over Space Wolves, it seems you’re not kings of the saddle any longer.

Jkin recently finished up some “Heavy Cavalry” for his Black Templars, and I think they are pretty awesome!

When he runs them as Templars, they are Terminators with Thunder Hammer / Storm-shields (hence the 40mm bases, shields, and “Lance Hammers”).

He was going for a Knights theme with these guys and from the styling, lances, and mounts- I’d say he nailed it.

I’m sure if he slaps a 60mm base under them they would be legal as Thunderwolves as well, but that’s not a road he’s going down today.

Follow along with how he made these, check out the How-To article here.

I think you can even make these into great Dark Angel models as well! -MBG

Jkin was also the mad converter that brought us the Stormtalon Helicopter, so be sure to checkout the rest of Jkin’s amazing conversions and paint jobs here!

Virginia restless, miniature painter & cat dad. He blames LEGOs as there was something about those little-colored blocks that started it all.

Scale model hobbyist in the 80s, miniature wargamer, and trading card player ever since. He’s played every edition of Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Fantasy since 5th Edition, but Titans of all sizes will always be his favorite! It’s rumored that his hobby vault rivals the Solemnance Galleries, containing rulebooks filled with lore from editions long past, ancient packs of black-bordered Magic Cards, and minatures made of both pewter and resin.
