They may be considered myths to the Leagues of Votann, but the Squats’ origins are intrinsically tied to the colonization of the Galatic Core!

Obviously, they had to come from somewhere, and all signs point to pre-imperial Terra, but one thing is for certain: all their lives are tied to the mining of the Galactic Core and the Ancestor Cores! See where they originally came from.

Leagues of Votann Lore: Squat Technology

The Time of Isolation saw the Squats isolated from all other human worlds and their external resources. They were forced to defend themselves as well as develop their own technology. Re-inventing spacecraft and advanced weaponry was one of the challenges.

Another challenge was keeping their life-support systems, hydroponic tanks, and heat pumps running. These objectives were made possible by the Squat population’s ability to use the resources available. These people were able to quickly come up with alternate technologies to replace those that were not available from Terra.

Squat Guilds have created a variety of technologies that no other race has and that are so precise that even the Adeptus Mechanicus cannot understand how they work. 

The Neoplasma reactor, powered by a Warp Core and harnessed using a zero-energy containment zone, is one example of Squat innovation in technological matters. These giant machines are not immune to the dangers of Squat worlds. Land Trains can sink into deep dust without leaving any trace.  

Are Leagues of Votann Weapons Better Than Imperial Weapons?

Squat technology generally performs better than its Imperial counterparts due to their access to STCs and Ancestor Cores. The Squat technology was developed by Brokhyrs, who run auto-foundries. However, Squats have shared their technology with other races, such as the Tau, but the Imperium loves to shun outside technology they do not understand. 

Smart tech is integrated into the battle gear of squat weapons. To establish a feedback loop between firearms and their users, the haptic utilities nerve transmission recalibrator module – HunTR interfaces with their neural augments – The system emits minute gravitational pulses that maintain a stable firing platform, even when running or riding at maximum speed. Squats are not limited to long-range technology, however. Their melee gear uses Plasma fields for enhanced killing power.

What are Some Notable Leagues of Votann Technology & Weapons?

The following are notable Squat technologies:

• Bikes And Trikes They are extensively used as personal transports in hostile terrains of the Squat Homeworlds. They are especially useful for younger abhumans in battle. This is especially true for the Engineers Guild. Who Guild Bikers call their trikes and bikes Hogs And Sickles.   These subtypes are:
  • The Guild Trike is only used by the Engineers Guild
  • The Exo-Armour Trike is ridden by a Stronghold warrior class in Exo-armour, and they also carry a Doom Lance. This spear- or lance-like weapon fires one Heavy bolter shell upon impact at its target.
• Exo-armor is similar to Terminator armor; the Squat exo-armor combines a mobile exoskeleton with heavy armor plates. The Age of Isolation was the time when the exo-armor was developed. It is designed to be used in hostile environments such as chemical storage tanks and plasma reactor pressure chambers. This piece of Squat technology has been regarded as one of the most important inventions of the Age of Isolation. It is often lavishly decorated in precious metals, with traditional designs or runes that tell of the wealth, lineage, and achievements of the wearer of the armor.
• Mole mortar: Invented by the Engineers Guild, copied and adopted by The Imperium.
• Thudd gun: This quad-launcher was also invented by the Engineers Guild, who gave it to the Adeptus Mechanicus, who copied the design.
• HunTR Modules – neural interface technology.
• Ancestor Cores are the key to Squat civilization. These are repositories for Squat technology and knowledge.
