Who were they? Twenty genetically-engineered sons of the Emperor of Mankind. They appear in the 30th Millennium, after the end of the Unification Wars.
THE PRIMARCHS
Their genomes served as the genetic template from which came into existence twenty Space Marine Legions.
The Primarchs were intended to be immortal leaders who command the Emperor’s Great Crusade to reunite human race and were raise to be perfect generals, warriors, political leaders, almost mythical gods.
Yet for all their power they were still men and it was the definitive obstacle to the realization of the Emperor`s great plans.
MORTARION
Mortarion also known as Death Lord and and later as Prince of Decay. Commander of the XIV Death Guard Space Marine Legion on the arrival of the Emperor to his homeworld of Barbarus. Mortarion turned to the Forces of Chaos during the Horus Heresy. At present, Mortarion is the greatest Daemon Prince of Nurgle and the Daemon Primarch of the Death Guard Chaos Space Marines.
VULCAN
Vulcan is a commander of the XVIII Space Marine Legion. He have a great power of regeneration. He can create earthquakes with his hammer. He is one of the strongest Primarchs. Approximately a thousand standard years after the Horus Heresy, Vulkan hid 9 sacred artefacts he had created around the galaxy for his Chapter to find, as a test to see if they were worthy of his leadership.
HORUS
Horus also known as Lupercal is the commander of Luna Wolves Legion of Space Marines, later knows as Sons of Horus. He is the first Imperial Warmaster and most favoured son of the Emperor, but also the greatest traitor in the history of Mankind when he was corrupted by Chaos and initiated the Horus Heresy against the very Imperium he helped create.
LORGAR
Lorgar was also known as Lorgar Aurelian and The Urizen, commander of Word Bearers, the XVII Legion of Space Marines. Now he is a Daemon Prince of Chaos. Always determined to uplift humanity through a deep belief in the divine, once the Emperor of Mankind rejected his attempts at worship, Lorgar discovered the Ruinous Powers of Chaos, more worthy of his devotion during his infamous Pilgrimage.
