Look’s like the Eldar have the most D weapons of any army now. Come see the new leaks!
Hail to the king, baby. Here is the big picture that’s doing the rounds today that has everyone on tilt (and Eldar players giddy).
From the look of this, it seems like Eldar haven’t lost a step at all… Even the little Wraithguard seem to be getting ‘D’ Weapons. Oh the humanity of it…
Before we get too excited there may be TWO questions that we need to ask ourselves that haven’t leaked yet;
What will the Wraithknight’s battlefield role be (Lord of War or Heavy Support), and what will it get valued at points-wise?
The former I personally am not to worried about, even Lords of Wars seem ‘easy’ to take these days with new formations like the Necron Decurion and the Daemonkin Bloodhost.
As it turns out, we saw after this article was written, you can take up to 12 Wraithknigts in the new Eldar formation from the Codex as well
The latter though, has me raising an eyebrow.
Two years ago the Wraithknight seemed under pointed at 240 (or 250 with the Ghostglaive), for T8 6W 5I creature that had a jetpack to boot. It’s only ‘balance’ at the time seemed to be it’s 3+ save and it’s weakness to Instant Death.
Fast forward to now, where a WS10, T6 I9 flying Bloodthirster is running around with 8 ‘D’ Weapon attacks, at 275 and I’m feeling like the Wraithknight is SEVERELY under-pointed.
Becoming a Gargantuan Creature with several ways to get ‘D’ attacks (and now access to everyone’s favorite ‘stomp’ attack), he’s a steal at his current points I’d wager.
So will he be the big bad boogie man on the table-top, and more importantly who is going to get the ‘D’ next, model-wise?
Based on the past I’d say one thing’s for sure- Games Workshop will sell out of him, and his little cousins the Wraithguard early on!
