We may have underestimated how good this Eldar unit really is. Checkout a bigger problem than the Wraithknight.

Sure the Wraithknight is an issue, as it seems to be way under-costed for it’s points, but that’s not the hot topic today. It turns out once you crunch the numbers, there may be a BIGGER problem with the new Craftworld Eldar Codex.

Eldar Jet Bike

We all know jetbikes are powerful, but the ability to take a Shuriken cannon on every one of them may have just made them one of the most OP units in the game.

When you field them in huge numbers, (like 20-30) which really isn’t that far fetched points wise either folks, they can get pretty mean.

By the Numbers; 30 Jetbikes

90 Shuriken Cannon Strength 6 AP5 Shots

  • ~60 Hits at BS 4, Causing about 50 Wounds, 8 of those AP2
  • ~80 Hits at BS 4 Guided, Causing about 65 Wounds, 11 of those AP2
  • ~80 Hits at BS 4 Guided, Causing about 70 Wounds with Shred, 12 of those AP2.

On average a 10 man Terminator Squad with Stormshields and Feel No Pain will lose 8 models to 50 Shuriken wounds, and it pretty much goes downhill from there statistics-wise.

Concentrated Shuriken firepower looks to be pretty deadly, perhaps more so than the issues an ‘under-pointed’ Wraithknight presents.

PLUS the fact Jetbikes can also be ‘Objective Secured’ and of course move faster than a flyer every turn as well, may make them grossly efficient for their point costs.

However the main drawback in taking so many jetbikes is that they have a ‘hard time’ dealing with armored targets of AV12 and above.

Unfortunately though, after taking 20 or so jetbikes there is still plenty of points left over for Fire Dragon Venoms or perhaps worse yet, Wraithguard with Wraithcannons.

Can your Death Star repel firepower of this magnitude?

More on the Wraithguard soon!
