ynnead eldarToday we’re going to be talking about Biel Tan and Iyanden. Ynnead has risen! How will these Two Craftworlds survive? Who will they follow?

Eldar is on Trial on the Militant Craftworld of Biel-Tan, but then something happens and avatar of Ynead is born. Let’s set the stage for what may follow as the 40k universe spirals towards the time of ending.

The Young King

Young King

When a Craftworld prepares for a major war, its Exarchs begin to feel the Avatar’s call. The Exarchs go to the door leading into the Avatar’s chamber. There they begin the ancient ritual to rouse the Avatar, where they anoint the Young King and sing battle hymns. Then the chamber’s door opens, and the Young King enters. The Exarchs continue the ritual at the entrance. It may take hours or days, but finally a terrible scream echoes from the chamber and the Avatar rises. There is no sign of the Young King – it is unknown whether the Young King is united with Khaine or is destroyed.

Biel-Tan’s culture revolves around the Court of the Young King. But with the war against the Slaanesh going on for as long as it has, are their people growing weary? Did Slaanesh Infilitrate the Infinity circuit, or did Eldrad trick them all?

When Eldrad Ulthran brought warning to Iyanden of the Great Devourer, he also told the Iyanden Seer Council that the Eldar race’s only ultimate hope against Slaanesh lay with Ynnead, the god of the dead. While most of Iyanden dismissed Ulthran, Arienal embraced this prophecy and in a brief moment received a glorious apotheosis where the spirits of living Eldar would become one with the dead. The resulting psychic backlash would stir Ynnead from his slumber, and at last defeat Slaanesh.

Eldrad Ulthran brought warning of the Great Devourer to the Iyanden Seer Council, but most of them would ignore his warning. Iyanna Arienal, the Angle of Iyanden, heard Eldrad’s words stating the ultimate hope against the Great Devourer, was with Ynnead, the god of the Dead.  For a brief moment, Iyanden received a glorious apotheosis where the spirits of living Eldar would become one with the dead to defend the craftworld which may have ultimately awakened Ynnead?

Ynnead and Eldrad

Eldrad Ulthran attempted to undertake a great ritual that would prematurely awaken Ynnead, involving channeling the remains of Farseers through every Infinity Circuit. The ritual would have rendered every Craftworld disabled and wreaked havoc on the Astronomican, but Slaanesh may have ultimately met its end.

However, he was foiled by the Deathwatch in the Battle of Port Demesnus.

We do know Eldrad Ulthan has been playing a huge role in the latest rumors. We know he’s attempted to prematurely awaken Ynnead in the past, but never succeeded. Did he finally achieve his goal?

The Yncarne, Avatar of Ynnead, pictured above, seems to have some Slaanesh undertones, and is holding the top of Eldrad’s Staff with the Infinity Circuit symbol above it. Could this in fact be the Avatar of Eldrad Ulthan himself…?

What are your thoughts? What do you think the plans are for the Dark Eldar and the Craftworlds? Did Eldar in fact succeed at making himself an Avatar?
