How to Paint Alpha Legion – Freehand Style

alpha legion

Hey hobby fans! Kenny is back with another tutorial, today he is demonstrating how to put some sweet freehand scales on the Praetor Tribune Exclusive model!

Kenny is going to take us through a few more of his Ancient Chinese Techniques to demonstrate just how quick, and easy it is to throw down some sweet freehand on your favorite mysterious Traitor Legion!

Those are some crazy cool scales!  Kenny shows us what tools and paints he used.  Starting with the simplest of all hobby tools, the mechanical pencil!

The Alpha Legion was the XX Legion of the original twenty Space Marine Legions. They turned against the Emperor during the Horus Heresy, becoming Chaos Space Marines.

Even before they turned to Chaos, the Alpha Legion were renowned as the most secretive of all the Legions. The Alpha Legion’s most closely guarded secret, unbeknownst to all but a few outside the legion, is that they had two primarchs; Alpharius and his twin Omegon.

Kenny started with a nice and fresh model, recently sealed with some varnish to protect it from any accidents during the freehand process. Following the natural curve of the shoulder pad he lays down some lines to work with, and from there on out its a paint by numbers game!

Kenny used P3 Gnarls Green and Necrotite Green for the whole process, they can found here for $3.50 a pot.
