U-Wing Bumper Ships: Star Wars X-Wing Tactics

U-Wing Star wars X-wing

The U-Wing is an excellent support ship for the Resistance, but it can be modified to do it’s own thing. Namely bump other ships and cause problems! Let’s take a look at a U-Wing bump build.

Heff Tobber was made for bumping ships. With a low pilot skill, he will move before most other ships, and being a large based ship, he will always be able to get in the way. Whenever a ship executes a maneuver and it touches Heff, you may perform a free action. Since you will be bumping often, let;s go with Anti Pursuit Lasers.

This allows you to get some free damage onto ships that you will be bumping. This allows you to also perform a free action, and this might be the perfect ship for the often forgot Saboteur crew card.

As an action you can roll another dice, and on a hit or crit you can flip that facedown damage you got with Anti Pursuit Lasers. This may seem like a lot to just get 1 crit through, but it’s for free! And we love free stuff!

Another tactic you can use on your bumper of a ship would be to use the Pivot Wing title to perform a 180. This will help you keep the enemy in your firing arc and be the perfect setup for the Zeb crew card.

Zeb allows you to fire upon a ship that you are touching, and hopefully your Saboteur did a good job of assigning a Crit to the enemy. Zeb could be the finishing touch to blast the enemy off the table, all for bumping your ship.

That’s it for another interesting Rebel build using upgrades that don;t see much use. It;s fun to try new things on ships that don;t see much play. Go out there and try it for yourself!
