Warhammer Community dropped some new information on us about the Kharadron Overlords and a new Battletome on the way for Khorne. Let’s take a look at what they had to say.
Battletome: Blades of Khorne
The forces of Chaos will be getting some new rules with a the new ‘Chaos Battletome: Blades of Khorne’. These guys are the archetypal villains of the age and the first faction to meet the Stormcast Eternals in battle in the realms. Like their heaven-forged adversaries who received a new Battletome last month, it’s only fitting that the followers of the Blood God get an update too.
In many ways, the new Battletome is the Khornate equivalent of the Disciples of Tzeentch book we saw in January. It brings new allegiance abilities for daemonic and mortal followers of the Blood God, as well as new magic weapons (probably some axes…), Battalions, command traits and prayers (good news for Slaughterpriests, who can use all of the above!).
The only downside for Khorne fans is the new Battletome does not mean new models. Games Workshop said there will not be any new models to accompany this Battletome because “the armies of Khorne are pretty well catered for in that regard“. It seems Games Workshop is going back and fixing the old as well as putting out some new Battletomes. Age of Sigmar has only been out for just about 2 years, so there’s still a lot of rules that need explaining and correcting across the board.
The other big release of April is the Kharadron Overlords. We have already had a pretty good look at these guy. One thing we haven’t seen before though is one of these sturdy folk outside their armour. There is only a single picture of this in the entire book. They do take their armour off, though never outside the sealed environments of their ships and cities, and underneath their arcane environment suits are recognisable duardin.
First Stormcasts get their books replaced, and now Khorne!
The new Duardin army, Kharadron Overlords, are releasing next month and the image pictured above is out of the April White Dwarf. A lot of poeple have been upset that there is no skin or beards showing on these new models, but there will be plenty of pictures of them armor free in the new book that will be coming out with the new army. It’s understandable that they would cover themselves head to toe, the planets they’re fighting on are some of the harshest environments in the Age of Sigmar Realms.
What Are your thoughts about the new Battletome and announcement that Khorne won’t be getting any new models? After all, we did just see Stormcast get a nice influx of new minis to accompany their Battletome. What about the Kharadron Overlords? Are you pleased with the new head to toe armor army?
