3 New Sets of 40k Terrain Rules SPOTTED!

New rules have been spotted for the three Armageddon terrain pieces that will be released later this week. Come take a look at what you can expect to see.

These new terrain rules were just sent to us via Scanner, and they’re interesting to say the least.

They all carry the Aegis of the Omnissiah special rule which allows you to re-roll cover saves of 1 for any model on or within 1″ of a Sector Mechanicus terrain piece. But the other special rules are what make each piece very unique, and deadly.

Let’s take a look:.

Sector Mechanicus: Alchomite StackAlchomite Stack

Volatile Cover triggers while making a cover save for a model obscured by an Alchomite Stack. On a roll of a 6 that model’s unit immediately suffers D3 Strength 6 AP3 hits with the Ignores Cover special rule.

Sector Mechanicus: Ferratonic FurnaceFerratonic Furnace

At the start of each game turn, roll a dice for each Ferratonic Furnace on the battlefield. Volatile Cover kicks off on a 1, and each unit within 3″ of the Furnace immediately suffers D6 Strength 5 AP 4 hits with the Ignores Cover special rule.

Sector Mechanicus: Galvanic Magnavent

The Volatile Cover special rle for the Galvanic Magnavent is very similar to the Ferratonic Furnace. You’ll roll a dice at the beginning of each turn for each Galvanic Magnavent on the battlefield. On a roll of 1, each unit withing 3″ of the Galvanic Magnavent’s pipe or chimney section immediately suffers D3 Strength 8 AP2 hits with the Ignores Cover Save special rule.

These new terrain pieces are sure to add a twist to your game, and they’ll be available at your LGS this week. What are your thoughts? Are you going to be picking any of these up? Or are you going to steer clear of them completely?
