Kharadron Overlords Wal HorzThe Kharadron Overlords are starting to make their way to stores, and their new book gave us a look at some of the rules, points, and tactics.

A lot of things have already been revealed about the Kharadron Overlords, but here’s a couple things that Scanner sent us that you may not have known.

Battle Traits:

This table is interesting because there are 6 major sky-ports that follow The Code in the Kharadron army. However, if you choose an Army that is not part of the 6 major sky-ports then you get to choose, or roll on, one ability from each table listed above.

Pitched Battle Profiles:

This is the first major look at points we’ve seen so far. There’s been a couple points coming out here and there, but not like this. The most expensive unit we see is the Behemoth sky-vessel, the Arkanaut Ironclad coming in at 440 points. A close second, surprisingly, is Brokk Grungsson, the leader that flies around on the balloon pictured above at 300 points, costing more than the other Behemoth sky-vessel, the Arkanaut Frigate.

Deployment & Tactics

They also provided a better look at the Deployment & Tactics of the new Army. Once again, this is an army unlike any we’ve seen before so it seems like Games Workshop is trying to give you a couple inside tips to get you started in on your first battle with them.

One of the biggest things we’re seeing is the fact that you can begin the game with all your units embarked on the ships and in the air. This is going to allow you to use the ships fast moving characteristics to get your slow moving units across the field quickly.

We’ve seen other rules posts come out over the last couple weeks, so be sure to stop by and check those out in case you missed them. The Kharadron Overlords are seeming like an extremely versatile army, with a strong defense and offense.

But is this going to be enough to take down the forces of Chaos? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
