Is The New Death Guard Release On Hold? RUMORS

By James Rodriguez | April 18th, 2017 | Categories: Warhammer 40k, Warhammer 40k Rumors

Daemon Primarch Mortarion

We got our first look at the Death Guard and Mortarion during Adepticon this year, does that mean they’ll be out as soon as everyone expected?

A reader on Faeit recently put a new rumor out there, the Death Guard release will not be until the end of the year. Are we going to be waiting longer than expected for the big release?

This is a rumor so don’t forget to add salt!

Just wanted to give some heads up on the Deathguard. The news is that Deathguard is more likely a
September-December release (i.e. end of the year)

Perhaps the Warhammer fest painting is a preview or they moved the release
date recently – take of it what you will, but apparently typhus is also
expected given kharn and ahriman (although I havent had an exactly
definitive answer on that).

Summarise – End of the year expected date for deathguard and yes there will
be the deathguard green paint along with it.

According to this anonymous source the Death Guard will not be released until late this year. We don’t know how true this is, and we cannot confirm or deny the validity of this rumor, so take it as you will. But this does raise a couple questions. Is there something bigger in store for the Death Guard? Did something happen with the Codex or model production?

Is there bigger releases that will be revealed and released prior to Death Guard now?

Editor’s Note: Mortarion was 100% confirmed privately to several sources by GW at Adepticon.

Now consider this: GW’s first officially spoiled the Kharadron Dwarves SIX months again in their very first Rumor Engine post in November of last year. Is it possible that this Death Guard release is that long away? Six months would put them right around the September / October release time frame that so many new releases have see as their go live date to compete with the back to school / start of fall IRL activities period.

With Warhammer Fest just over a month away we can most likely expect to hear something from GW during the event. The Kharadron Overlords were released shortly after Adepticon, but people also got the privilege of taking a little guy home from the GW painting seminar. Are they going to do the same for the Death Guard at Warhammer Fest? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
