By Barclay Montgomery | July 27th, 2017 | Categories: Star Wars Destiny, Star Wars Tactics

New cards from the Empire at War expansion of Star Wars Destiny have been revealed! Come and see what amazing new cards we can see in the coming release!

Blurry card images ahead. Please forgive.A new favorite for the Star Wars universe, K-2S0 makes his debut in Destiny. This 12 health character has strong melee, discard, 2 shields, and a resource for his character die.  K-2S0 also features an interesting character ability. The cost to play a weapon on this character is increased by 2. Also, if you play or move a weapon onto  K-2S0 for the first time, you may ready him. This is a great ability that will take some time to get used to.Redeploy weapons will be clutch for him.

What’s this? A 5 resource support! This wild new card is one of the most powerful ranged supports in the game. Featuring a die with 3, 4, 5, and even 6 ranged damage! The higher the damage, the higher the cost. This card also features some of the most resource costs ever seen for the damage. A way around this is to exhaust one of your characters to fire this weapon without paying the resource cost. This will add some punch to decks featuring cheaper characters. The meta game of Destiny seems to be swinging in the favor of vehicles. Pinned Down is a card that just rewards you for spotting a vehicle, which allows you to  remove a die, all for 1 resource. This card is a great way to breathe new life into vehicle decks.

An interesting card for 0 resources. This card allows you to reroll a die. Then you can reroll that die again. And again until you are satisfied with the result. This is a way to increase your luck with your rolls and mitigate the randomness factor of your dice.

Thermal Paint is a new weapon upgrade that will be perfect for Sabine Wren. This card forces an opponent to deal one damage to one of their characters whenever you activate a character with Thermal Paint. Then you may discard Thermal Paint to deal an additional damage to that character. This is an interesting upgrade that will be great with Fast Hands for free damage potential.

Lastly, we have a new battlefield reveal. Weapons Factory Alpha allows you to reduced the cost of a vehicle you play first in your next turn. This battlefield will favor vehicle based play, and hints that vehicle supports will be getting a big boost in the next expansion!

These new cards are revealing new clues about wht to expect in the Empire at War expansion for Star Wars Destiny!
